You can be more responsible with using and paying for their cellphones by knowing your needs. If all you are going to do is call and text than you probably don't need a smart phone and a plan that involves a bunch of other stuff that you don't need. If you text and drive you put yourself in danger as well as the passengers and other people on the road. Even if you don't respond and only read a text than that is about five seconds that you have your eyes off the road. If you are in a vehicle with a person that is texting and driving you can do stuff about it. You can tell them to stop and request to text for them.
